Cooking the cellsToday is day 0 as I got my stem cells back today. The stem cell folks came in with a two tier cart loaded with thermos containers, a hot dog cooker, neatly wrapped packages–I thought we were going to have a tailgate party! It was fairly uneventful getting the cells put back in but the cryo thermos and the water bath kindda looked like a Frankenstein movie with all the dry ice smoke coming out while they pull packets of blood out to thaw. Told me it might taste like creamed corn or garlic, I thought it tastes like bland tomato juice. Now I just have to sit back and wait for the stem cells to begin grafting (usually around day 10) and then it’s uphill from there. And Beth, it really wasn’t bad. Hmmmm–I keep smelling tomato juice…….Gary
